Djokovic through to semis in Dubai

Novak Djokovic moved into the semi-finals of the Dubai Tennis Championships after Mikhail Youzhny of Russia withdrew.

The injury that forced Youzhny’s withdrawal means the world number two will face either Roger Federer or Lukas Rosol in the semi-final on Friday.

On the other side of the draw, seventh seed Philipp Kohlschreiber downed Malek Jaziri 6-2 6-3 in just over an hour and 10 minutes.
Kohlschreiber only dropped one point on his serve during a dominant first set that he wrapped up courtesy of two breaks of his Tunisian opponent’s serve.

The second set was a more competitive affair but Kohlschreiber secured the crucial break at 4-3 before holding his next service game to set up a semi-final against either Tomas Berdych or Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
