Computerisation of Prosecution Department approved

Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister and former IGP Rana Maqbool Ahmad has said that PC-I for the computerisation of Prosecution Department has been approved.

Addressing a conference titled “Significance of Independent Prosecution Service” arranged jointly by Punjab Prosecution Service, Center for Research and Security Studies and GIZ on Friday, he said that laptops would be provided to prosecutors all over Punjab for smooth working and improvement.

He said, “It is our mission to rebuild people’s trust in public prosecutors. Coordination between police and prosecutors helps in bringing criminals to justice.”

Maqbool said that department was establishing a prosecution helpline for increasing the coordination with masses. He said that prosecution was a mission and prosecutors were not there just to convict the criminal but they have to rescue the innocent as well.

Mujeeb ur Rehman Shami, Secretary Prosecution Nadeem Irshad Kiani and District and Session Judge Hamid Shah also spoke on the occasion whereas a large number of prosecutor and students were also present.
