Beaconhouse breaks world record by holding the largest art class at Punjab Stadium
In collaboration with the Punjab Sports Board, the talented students of Beaconhouse set a Guinness World Record for the largest art class on Friday.
Beaconhouse Art Curriculum Manager Ms Rukhe Neelofer Zaidi led 5,351 Beaconhouse students in this momentous endeavour. A team from the Guinness Book of World Records was also present at the festival to verify records. It was an experience of a lifetime for the students, who were thrilled to have become part of an international record-breaking attempt and even more excited to have succeeded.
The arrangements for the attempt were made by the Punjab government in collaboration with Beaconhouse.
Private TV channels covered the proceedings in a live broadcast from Punjab Stadium where thousands of workstations were set up in neat rows for the students.
They created artwork using various mediums including acrylics, water colours, mixed media, colour pencils, pastels and canvas. They wore green and white shirts and caps with Pakistani flags imprinted on them and excitedly chanted ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ as they waited for the results.
Their dedication and skill were a sight to behold, as they came together in a magnificently disciplined and organised manner to take on the challenge. Their hard work soon paid off: a wave of jubilation hit the crowd as it was announced that Beaconhouse students had broken the world record for the largest art class.
The previous record for the largest art lesson was set by the New Taipei City Government in SanyinOutdoorPark on November 9, 2013, with a total of 4,810 participants.
