Three gunship helicopters of the Pakistan armed forces on Thursday morning shelled militant hideouts in the Dera Ismail Khan’s Tehsil Kalachi and Darkani area of South Waziristan Agency (SWA).
According to military sources, helicopters shelled hideouts of the militants in the Tehsil Kalachi and mountains bordering SWA. However, there are no immediate reports of any casualties.
Scores of militants, mostly foreigners, have been killed since the launch of retaliatory air strikes by the armed forces in tribal areas, especially North Waziristan, this month following the collapse of peace talks with the outlawed Tahreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
