Urdu declamation, painting competition held

Urdu declamation and painting competition held here on Wednesday at IslamabadModelCollege for Girls (IMCG) Post Graduate F-7/4, on the second day of intercollegiate competitions.

Shamim Ikram-ul-Haq a renowned journalist, writer, poetess, member executive committee Pakistan National Council of Arts and Union of journalist, Islamabad, was the guest of honor on the occasion.

Sharing her remarks on the occasion, Shamim Ikram said fashion could not portray personality of people especially students but, she added, it is important to have balanced approach towards life and strong character building that contributed in building a nation. Eleven teams from different colleges of Islamabad and Rawalpindi participated in the event.

According to results in Urdu declamation contest, Mehwish Ishtiaq from Bilqees college of Education, Chaklala, Rawalpindi, Nimra Ahmad from Fizaia Inter College Chaklala, Rawalpindi and Aqsa Rana from IMCG Post Graduate (PG), F-7/2, stood first, second and third respectively.

Whereas in Still Life painting competition, Roshnan Ali from, GovernmentPostGraduateCollege for Women, 6th Road, SatelliteTown, Rawalpindi, got 1st position, Mishal Fatima, from IMCG (PG), F-10/2, bagged 2nd and Abeer KIani from ICG, F-6/2, got third position.

While in Ecstasy competition, Ammara Shakir from Government Post Graduate College for Girls, 6th Road, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi, took 1st prize, Zainab Shehzad from IMCG(PG),F-7/4 Islamabad bagged 2nd and Andleeb Tabassum from Government Post Graduate College for Women, 6th Road,

SatelliteTown, Rawalpindi and Aqdas Ali from Kashmir Road, Rawalpindi secured 3rd position.

At the end of the occasion prizes were distributed among the winners.
