PESHAWAR
Police and intelligence agencies on Wednesday foiled a bid to target the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) inspector general (IG) and arrested three accused including a commander of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Police and intelligence officials launched the operation on a tip. Taliban commander Qari Anas alias Abu Musa and his two accomplices sitting in ambush near Swabi Interchange, planning to target KP IG Nasir Khan Durrani were arrested.
Heavy and modern weaponry was recovered from them.
The detained terrorists were shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
