Coordinator of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) appointed intermediary committee, Maulana Samiul Haq,on Wednesday contacted the TTP shura to communicate some requests on behalf of the committee, a private news channel reported.
According to the news report, Sami met with the shura members of TTP and conveyed the wishes of the committee.
Also on Monday, TTP intermediary committee’s member Maulana Yousuf Shah told media sources that the Taliban have expressed willingness to continue peace talks.
Shah urged the need of a ceasefire grom the government and TTP t in order to ensure successful peace talks.
Earlier on Tuesday, TP had rejected the government’s call for an unconditional ceasefire.
“If this is what we have to do, we would have done it 10 years ago,” TTP’s spokesman Shahidullah Shahid had said.
