PBM launches economic revival project for poor citizen

The Pakistan Bait-ul-Mall (PBM) on Wednesday launched Economic Revival Project for the poor citizens of the country to extend their financial assistance from Rs10,000 upto Rs50,000 for establishing small businesses.

Addressing a press briefing, PBM Managing Director Barrister Abid Wahid Sheikh said that initially Rs 10 million have been allocated for the project.

He said that deserving people would be provided Rs 10,000 to 50,000 loan without interest for establishing small businesses.

He said that deserving people are being encouraged to apply for getting loans, adding that professional beggars would be discouraged.

ThePBM MD said that the apply form also available in all the district offices of the department.

He said that the PBM field officers will conduct inquiry after receiving applications from various parts of the country, adding that in future, the budget for the programme would be further increased to help people as much people possible.

Barrister Abid Wahid said that the aim of the project was to extend financial assistance to the poor section of society.

“It was 1992, when Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) was established by the then and today’s prime minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif. His visionary leadership intends to enable the marginalised segment of society to break the vicious circle of poverty,” he remarked.
