Defence Production Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain on Wednesday said that the National Policy for Internal Security (NPIS) will help combat terrorism and improved law and order in the country.
Talking to media outside parliament, he said that this was the first government which announced security policy with an objective to eliminate terrorism. He said the government would initiate targeted operation against the groups involved in killing of innocent people.
“We are in favour of dialogue with the groups, those accepting the writ of the government,” he added.
The minister said the government believed operation was not a solution to resolve disputes.
