Four food outlets challaned for unhygienic kitchens

The Food Department has challaned four food outlets for unhygienic kitchens and violation of hygiene

and sanitation rules in the Federal Capital.

According to details, Assistant Director, Food, Islamabad, Muhammad Afzal, conducted price checking and inspection of hotels and restaurants in Power Market, G-10/4.

He imposed heavy fines on the unhygienic food outlets and profiteers for over charging and not displaying the rate list of fruit, vegetables, chickens, milk and curd.

He imposed heavy fines of Rs 16,000 on the profiteers for overcharging and not displaying the rate list.

The food outlets were directed to immediately improve the hygienic and sanitary conditions failing which strict action would be taken against the violators.

He also took samples of milk and curd from shops and sent them laboratory for chemical analysis.

He has directed the shopkeepers to ensure the quality of food items and display their rate list.

The price checking and inspection of food outlets would continue to ensure strict implementation of food and hygiene laws, he added.
