Banned terrorist outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesman Shahidullah Shahid on Wednesday said they are ready to face consequences of military operation in North Waziristan.
According to reports, commenting on the statement of MQM chief, the spokesman said Altaf Hussain planned a new strategy against the Taliban every morning.
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief on Tuesday had urged the Pakistan Army to take control of the country if the government does not support a military operation against the Taliban terrorists.
Shahid said the war would go on as long as the recommendations of politicians like Altaf Hussain would get implemented.
According to a private TV report, The TTP terrorists had reportedly rejected the government’s condition for a unilateral ceasefire, a day after the Federal Cabinet urged terrorists to renounce terror activities without pre-conditions.
Shahid contacted reporters and rejected the condition.
“It’s not acceptable to us, we are serious in talks but government demonstrates that it’s not willing to hold talks in a serious manner… We warn that the government will have to bear more loss than us,” he said, but signalled that the talks could move forward if the government guaranteed protection of arrested terrorists.
The Taliban’s statement came an hour after Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar unveiled the government’s National Security Policy in the National Assembly under which attacks from terrorists would be met with an appropriate military response.
The policy was endorsed by the federal cabinet which urged Taliban to renounce terror activities without pre-conditions and announce unilateral ceasefire.
