Unknown gunmen kill local Pashto singer
A local singer Wazir Khan Afridi was shot dead when unidentified gunmen opened indiscriminate firing in Faqir Killay area, a suburban locality of Peshawar on Wednesday, local police said.
Wazir Khan Afridi, was a renowned singer from the Khyber Agency, who has more than 40 albums.
Earlier there were reports that Afridi after being displaced from Bara, was facing threats from militants not to sing any more or face death.
The reports had also quoted Wazir Khan Afridi as saying that he had been abducted three times from Peshawar and was freed each time on the condition that he would not sing anymore.
