KARACHI-
Renowned and globally respected philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi on Wednesday led a peace rally in the metropolis.
Edhi, founder and chairperson of the Edhi Foundation, led the rally on a wheel chair and was accompanied by his volunteers.
Citizens across the city joined in at the rally and made generous donations to Edhi Foundation.
The rally was scheduled to pass through the the M.A. Jinnah Road and conclude at Numaish Chowrangi, near the mausoleum of the Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Talking to reporters, Edhi said that the law and order situation in the city made him to come out and lead a peace rally despite of his illness.
He said he wants to build a strong public opinion for love and peace, doing away with lawlessness and terrorism.
