ISLAMABAD-

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday granted the former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf an exemption from court appearance for the judges’ detention case hearing, a private news channel reported.

During today hearing, Musharraf’s lawyer Ilyas Siddiqui requested the court to grant exemption to his client.

The court accepted the request and adjourned the hearing until March 7.

Siddiqui also told the court that the former president’s medical reports were not being provided to his lawyers by the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC), where Musharraf has been admitted, adding that the court may seek the reports on its own.

Public Prosecutor Nadeem Tabish argued that neither the former army general nor his guarantor were attending the court hearings.

He requested the court to rule over the issue on merit in the next hearing.
