Militants should be given ‘another chance’ for talks, urges Imran

Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Monday
urged that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) be given another chance for peace talks.

Talking to reporters outside the Parliament House, Khan urged the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to announce an unconditional ceasefire for saving the dialogue process.

He also said that a military operation should be conducted against Taliban militants who are involved in terrorism – but added that the militants who are ready to abandon terrorism should be involved in talks.

Khan – who had declined TTP’s request to join the intermediary committee for representing the group in peace negotiations- also said that had he been in Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s shoes, he would have led the talks himself.

  2. We tend to forget that Imran was brought to power in KPK partly by the Talibans and their sympathizers. They are part and parcel of his electoral base. That's why he will always continu to give statements in favour of these butchers come what may. I bet that he will never condemn TTP by name and will use words such as 'militants' etc…He is a politician and a particularly arrogant one. Don't also forget that he is a partner of JI, one of the worst enemies of Pakistan.

  4. imu, first let the pakistan army give a good hiding to your tali supporters and than talk to them – imu said that if he was the PM he would have initiated the talks himself…………how sad – you are not the PM , as you lost the elections and ended up in opposition – the pakistani people did not have confidence in you running the country, as they have now seen how close you have been to the taliban terrorists, murderers and rapists! If you wre the PM you would ask these terrorists to guard the nuclear weapons!

  5. Lets face it, these knuckle draggers cannot be defeated militarily, you cannot defeat fanaticism. We will still need to talk. IK is right.

  8. For making statements like these, Imran will lose whatever seats he had gained in elections. Everybody thought that he should be given a chance to run govt. Now everybody realizes that its a good thing that he did not win the elections. If the Taliban think that they can get the govt. to back down, they will become more aggressive and kill more people so they can have more leverage. IK is turning out to be an idiot.

  9. If you are so confident about resolving this bloodshed with parleys then why did you refuse to take part in negotiations when nominated by TTP. If you still believe in negotiations you should take initiative and start negotiating with TTP voluntarily.

  12. still Imran khan urf Taliban khan was found saying "log mujhe taliban khan kyun kehty haen?" Taliban khan sahib, read the statement of yours and know the reason why people call you Taliban khan.
    All his stance about Taliban have been proved wrong, all the justifications like drone ka rad e amal, blackwater not taliban doing suicide attacks, musharaf policy blah blah have been proved wrong.
    Taliban are killers and butchers and they are doing attacks (thats is the reason Mr. idiot khan, talks table were held before them and they were offered for talks. if they are not doing attacks then what going to discuss in talks; weather conditions?)
    Drones ka rad e amal (for the last 50 days no drones were carried out however more than 300 innocent pakistanis were killed by your mentors ie taliban, now what you have to say?)
    Americi chaley jaen to hamly khatam ho jaye ge (taliban the serial killers have openly stated that their FIGHT or WAR will carry on even US army left Afghanistan. Ji immi ji ki haal chall haen?)
    All the PTI supporters should know that considering a leader as an IDOL or bhagwan is not the desired approach, one should ask questions from your leader rather than declaring them as some sort of GOD.
