Pizza Hut to train BISP beneficiaries

Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and MCR Pvt Ltd Franchise of international food chain of Pizza Hut, Burger King and TGIF for the territory of Pakistan, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to impart vocational training to the BISP beneficiaries and to provide trained labour work force to the food industry.

The signing ceremony between the BISP and MCR was held here in MCR Head Office. BISP Chairman Enver Baig and Aqeel Hasan, CEO MCR Pvt Ltd, signed the MOU. During the ceremony, the BISP chairman said this historic signing of MoU would enable the beneficiaries of BISP to earn a modest living through their job placement in one of the biggest food chains in the country. He said the vision of prime minister of Pakistan was to empower youth and BISP was taking the lead in fulfilling this mission by increasing the employment opportunities for poorest of the poor youth of Pakistan.

On the occasion, Aqeel Hasan, CEO, said that MCR was the largest group in food industry and they were operating international brands – Pizza Hut, Burger King and TGIF throughout Pakistan.

He said that they were committed to provide job placement to their qualified BISP beneficiaries. He said the BISP was doing tremendous job in poverty reduction through job placement and they were proud to become a partner with BISP.

The main objective of the MoU is poverty reduction through job placement of successful trainees of BISP’s Vocational and Training Programme and provision of trained labor work force to the food industry and minimization of the shortage of skilled work force.

Skills development on job training (OJT) would be provided to the beneficiaries by MCR and their placement in job market will be ensured by them.
