Curfew imposed in North Waziristan

The political administration has imposed curfew in most parts of North Waziristan including Tehsil Mir Ali, Miranshah, Datta Khel, Rizmik and Dosali for indefinite period of time while security forces were given shoot-at-sight orders against violators.

The local administration made an announcement through loudspeakers regarding the curfew and shoot-at sight orders against those violating the curfew.

According to sources, the security forces are patrolling the streets while security has been tightened on all entry/exit points.

Hundreds of locals were set to migrate to safer places following the deadlock between government and the Taliban. However, the residents were forced to wait till relaxation or lifting of curfew.

Around 700,000 residents of North Waziristan are feared to migrate to safer places if the government decides to launch operation against militant groups in the region.
