What a deal!

It has been announced by Govt. that work has started on getting power from India at the rate of Rs21 per unit. It is mortifying to note that our leaders have no sense in buying power at exceedingly high rate from India at Rs. 21/- per unit instead of generating its own hydel power from KBD at paisas 50 per unit. It is said that God does not beat with “lathis” recalcitrant sinners but makes them mad or senseless so that they can’t distinguish between right and wrong. As such our shoes are being used to beat us on our heads by India so that it can justify that Pakistan is unable to generate its own hydel power in the past 40 years by failure to build a single hydero-electric dam; therefore India is justified to build scores of dams on our western rivers. If this was to be the logic of creation of Pakistan then fie is on our leaders who cannot think beyond their nose. The right thinking people are stunned to learn about the highly unfavourable deal of buying power from India and ignoring our own hydel potential of 44000 MW power.

  2. we soiuld generate our own electricity from hydel sources. India has not honored the Indus water treaty. IT has built seceral small and medium size dams on our rivers, in violation if the said treaty. Is this government blind to all these deals ? Why must we follow Pro India Policies . Sharif Brothers are so keen on selling our interest to India that it is begging from India.

    This opening of trade route is bad deal that will come to haunt us later.

  3. We are have agreements with China to build dams and cooperate with us to generate power. It has shown interest in investing here in different projects. We shoud appreciatte Chinese co-operation and its time ested friendship.

  5. These schemes were approved in the 29th meeting of Provincial Development working party of current fiscal year 2013-14 presided over by the Punjab Planning and Development Board Chairman Irfan Elahi.
