Appointment of pharmacist in medical stores made mandatory in capital

Appointment of trained staff in all the medical stores at federal capital has been made mandatory by the government to ensure provision of quality drugs to the citizens.

In this regard, a law has been enforced, according to which medical stores have been divided into two parts for the sake of distinction. Green board will be displayed outside pharmacy and blue board will be put to display outside the medical store.

The presence of pharmacist in the medical store has been made compulsory. In the event of non appointment of pharmacist, the medical store will be sealed. Medical stores where pharmacist will be appointed will be named pharmacy. Medical stores where persons holding one year diploma in technical course are appointed will be named medical store.

As per the new law, the sale of cigarettes has been banned in medical stores at federal capital. Drug Inspector Islamabad has issued directives to all medical stores operating in urban area of Islamabad to appoint pharmacists within one month. The presence of pharmacist from 900 hrs to 1700 hrs has been made mandatory in all medical stores.
