Leader of the opposition in Senate, Senator Aitzaz Ahsan has said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) will stand by the government if it takes decision of launching military operation against terrorists.
Talking to media persons in Lahore High Court (LHC) on Saturday, Aitzaz Ahsan expressed surprise over Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) view point terming the Constitution of Pakistan as un-Islamic.
He said that Constitution do not allow any legislation against Islamic teachings then how could be it declared as un-Islamic, he questioned.
The PPP leader said that government is making all out efforts to resolve the terrorism issue through dialogue and operation will be last option and his party will stand by the decision after exhaust of first option and initiating military operation against extremists.
Ahsan said that prime minister and other members of the Parliament took oath under Constitution and it was their responsibility to ensure its implementation in letter and spirit.
