KUALA LUMPUR
An illegal Pakistani immigrant staying in Malaysia committed suicide by jumping from a building on Friday fearing arrest.
Immigration and police sources in Kuala Lumpur said that a Pakistani youth belonging to Narowal District of Punjab, illegally staying in Malaysia without legal documents, frightened of falling in hands of security authorities jumped from 14th floor of a building. He was shifted to hospital in critical condition but could not survive.
Malaysian immigration officials have accelerated action against illegal foreign immigrants and more than 250, including several Pakistan nationals have been detained in two days.
Meanwhile, leader of Pakistani community in Malaysia, Nisar Ali Khan Hazarvi, has requested the Malaysian authorities to stop harassing the foreign nationals. He is said to be in contact with the Pakistani High Commission for the respectful return of illegal immigrants to home.
