Six militants killed in FATA

As many as six suspected militants were killed when unidentified people opened fire on them near village Peer Keley in North Waziristan on Wednesday.
The tribal sources said that the militants were boarding a car. They were ambushed by people riding a tinted-window car near the village. As a result of the firing all the six militants died on the spot.
The tribesmen said that those killed were militants, but their exact identity was yet to be determined. The bodies were beyond recognition as the car caught fire.
Separately, the Peshawar police foiled an attempt to kidnap Prison Department’s Inspector Sajid Mumtaz.
An official said that Mumtaz was on his way in his personal vehicle on Ring Road when unidentified armed people forced him to come out of the car. He said policemen present on the spot rushed for Mumtaz’s help. Mumtaz is in-charge of Dr Shakil Afridi’s security.
