ISLAMABAD-
In a meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday, the government appointed committee for peace negotiations have come up with three primary conditions to pursue dialogue with militant insurgents of Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP), a private news channel reported.
According to the report, the committee will be putting forward the following conditions before TTP
• TTP should immediately announce a ceasefire and end all terror activities.
• Affiliated groups of TTP that are targeting forces and civilians must be disowned by the TTP, so that they can be singled out for action by the government.
• All high profile captives held by TTP must be released. These include Ali Haider Gillani, son of former PM Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and Shahbaz Taseer, son of slain Punjab Governor Salman Taseer.
The Prime Minister has affirmed that the dialogue process would go on if the Taliban accepted the conditions.
The meeting, between PM Sharif and committee members Irfan Siddiqui ,Rahimullah Yusufzai, Rustam Shah Mohmand and retired major Amir Shah, follows an impasse caused by TTP’s claim of killing 23 FC men in FATA.
On Sunday night, a militant outfit identifying itself as Mohmand Agency Taliban claimed the responsibility for the killings.
On Monday, the government committee cancelled its meeting with TTP appointed committee in reaction to the incident.
Good decision
Finally. Good decision
The PM has to be very careful because the TTP has infiltrated itself in the major urban areas of the country and if a major offensive is launched against the Taliban, we could see indiscriminate hit back in our major cities. The password is CAUTION.
Senselesness. Cheep joke with the pakistani people and family of those people who lost their life by the TTP attacks. What kind of PM Nawaz is who no care of the innocents people but Talibans
Seems like Pakistan Today is also a faction of TTP at the way they delete sensible comments.
Pakistan wanted strategic depth in Afghanistan and wanted to bleed India through thousand cuts inflicted by Jihad. The dark forces it raised and groomed are ready engulf the very country into darkness and oblivion.
We are seeing the true face on Nawaz sharif. He was a coward in 1999 and made a deal with Musharraf to spare his life and he is a coward today for wanting/begging for talks with TTP to spare HIS life. How do you tell someone who has lost a family member at the hands of these terrorists that you are going to forgive and forget if they stop killing more people? How do you make a deal with them. Nawaz is a coward who will always shy away from a fight. Pakistan is doomed.
Kashmiri Bachcha hai. What else can you expect.
It is called practical wisdom not cowardice my boy. By using brute force we wont be successful. It is a gorilla warfare. Has to be fought tactfully. Otherwise we will bleed ourselves to death. Patience, my boy patience! I can assure you never he was and never he would be. A coward!!!
