Sanaullah says US should give drone technology to Pakistan
The US should give the technology of drones to Pakistan for tackling terrorists, said Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Tuesday in an interview with a private TV channel.
The law minister said the US considered itself a major ally of Pakistan, adding that the US should give the technology of drones to Pakistan against militants. He said that drone technology has proved very effective against the militants.
Sanaullah said the federal government initiated peace dialogue with the Taliban for eliminating terrorism from the country but the Taliban killed 23 soldiers which could not be accepted and tolerated, adding that the government wanted successful talks with the Taliban for maintaining peace.
The provincial minister said the government was representative of the people and it was its duty to end terrorism. He said some anti-state elements were talking about presence of Punjabi Taliban in the province which was baseless. He said no-go areas in the province do not exist, adding that the government’s writ prevailed at every inch of Punjab.
Sanaullah said at least 3,000 anti-terrorism personnel in the province would be appointed in which 35 percent would be retired army personnel and 65 percent from police would be recruited.
