Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) has decided to hold local bodies (LB) elections in April.
According to media reports, KPK Minister for Local Bodies Inayatullah said holding the polls by the end of February is impossible, however, arrangements are in place to hold them by the April.
Sources said the authorities have decided to hold the voting in April, however, the final date will formally be announced by KPK Chief Minister Pervez Khattak in a couple of days.
The PTI-led KPK government had delayed the polls in an effort to introduce a biometric system to put an end to paper-related rigging for good. As per sources, it is likely to use it in the upcoming LB elections.
