Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday appealed the nation to give one complete chance to dialogue, as it had given a nine-year period to the fruitless war against the terrorism.

Talking to reporters, the PTI chief said that the pro-American lobby wanted an operation in North Waziristan as per dictation given by their master.

Imran Khan said that a ceasefire agreement between the government and the Taliban should be made as early as possible.

He said peace talks should be given a full chance to restore peace in the country, adding that the option of a military operation will always be at hand.

“It is better that before giving signal to the military, we give complete chance to peace talks as history tells us that Pakistan never succeeded in any military operation,” he added.

The PTI chief also revealed that there were groups within the Taliban which did not want peace in Pakistan, adding that anti-state elements were also active against peace-talks. However, the majority is still in a favour of dialogue to bring peace in the country, he added

Condemning the recent blasts, Imran Khan said Taliban should be given the responsibility of nabbing those involved in terrorist attacks.

He asserted that the US wants Pakistan Army to conduct an operation in North Waziristan.

PCB:

Talking about the recent power-tussles in the PCB, Imran Khan reiterated that Najam Sethi was given the chairmanship after he planted 35 ‘punctures’ in the May 2013 general elections.

Referring to protest of the Pakistan People Party (PPP) and other political parties in Senate against his statements, Imran Khan questioned why the Awami National Party (ANP) and PPP had never resorted to a military operation during their reign, and were now crying out to the sitting government to do so.

He leveled serious allegations on the PPP, ANP and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) saying that all these parties were pro-US.

  1. When he says anti state elements are backing the Taliban does he is describing the J I and Munawar Hassan?…Hassan has repeatedly called for the fall of the government and support for the Muslim terrorists…perhaps he is waking up to who the real terrorist supporters are!!!
