Three injured in Orangi Town twin blasts

KARACHI-

Three people were injured early on Saturday when twin blasts rocked the vicinity Mominabad police station in Karachi’s Orangi Town, private news channels reported.

According to police sources, the first blast was from a hand grenade that was hurled at a street vendor close to the premises of the police station.

A few minutes later, another blast followed. This time by a remote device planted at a taxi-stand.

Five persons, including a policeman, were injured while four vehicles were also damaged in the explosions, sources added.

Police and rescue workers rushed to the hospital.

The injured were shifted to a hospital while the security authorities launched an investigation.

According to initial investigation reports, the planted bomb was of a low intensity. Nuts, bolts and ball bearings were also discovered from the blast sites.
