SMIU holds condolence reference for Pakistan movement’s witness

Speakers at a condolence reference organised by Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) in memory of late Nisar Ali Effendi, paid rich tribute and called him a great visionary and missionary of Sindh.

Dr Shaista Effendi, daughter of Nisar Ali Effendi said he was a committed person and always thought about education of poor children of Sindh, said a statement on Tuesday.

Zain Effendi, a grandson of Nisar Ali Effendi said Nisar Ali Effendi had guided him about life and service for betterment of the nation.

SMIU Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ali Shaikh said after Hassan Ali Effendi and his son Wali Mohammad Effendi, Nisar Ali Effendi rendered his great services for education of younger

generation in Sindh.

Dr Shaikh said he was a living history of Sindh and Pakistan as he lived for almost 90 years, and seen all upheavals in the region.

He was also eyewitness of the speech of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, he delivered on 21st June 1943 at Sindh Madressatul Islam, the VC SMIU said.

He added that besides working for cause of education he was also a man who taken initiative for industrialisation and modern ways for agriculture in Sindh.

Dr Shaikh said SMIU and Quaid-e-AzamPublic School, which Nisar Ali Effendi had established will establish working relationship and mutual programmes for students will also be started at both institutions.

Former commissioner Karachi Shafiq Ahmed Paracha said that Nisar Ali Effendi was the real founder of Education City, being established in Malir of Karachi, because, he was the first person who established a modern school and college in Darsano Chhano, which areas is a part of Malir of Karachi.

He said that Nisar Ali Effendi was always eating education, sleeping education, dreaming education and thinking education.

Jehangir Siddiqui, a noted banker announced that an annual award will be given to an educationist of Sindh in the name of Nisar Ali Effendi from his organisation as recognition of Effendi’s services for education.
