Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) activist who was injured due to alleged police torture expired during treatment in hospital on Tuesday morning.
The party leaders blamed that Muhammad Adil was arrested by police a couple of days ago and allegedly tortured after which he was shifted to AbbasiShaaeedHospital where he expired.
Talking to media persons outside hospital, MQM leader Asif Hasnain said that Muhammad Adil was in-charge of Sector 136, North Karachi and he was arrested by law enforcement agencies two days ago. He was subjected to brutal torture during custody, he alleged.
MQM leader Haider Abbas Rizvi speaking on the occasion informed that Adil was handed over to his family with severe head injuries. He was shifted to AbbasiShaheedHospital where he succumbed to his wounds.
The MQM chief Altaf Hussain has condemned the LEAs for, what he termed, revenge action against MQM activists and demanded for strict action against the police officials involved in extra-judicial murders of party workers.
