Four women killed and several others were injured at a Quran Khwani when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives near a house in Peshawar’s Essa Khan Garhi area on Monday. SSP Najeeb, who overlooks police operations in Peshawar, said that a raid was conducted in the area upon receiving information regarding the presence of terrorists. He added that during the operation a suicide bomber detonated his explosives near the house.
There were a few women present at the house where a Quran Khwani was underway at the time of explosion, area locals said.
Some sources also claim that the suicide bomber was actually taking refuge in the house.
Security forces and police cordoned off the area and have launched a search operation in which two suspects were immediately arrested.
