Leader of the House in the Senate Raja Zafarul Haq on Monday said the government would hold dialogue with the banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan within constitutional parameters.
To a point of order‚ he said the 1973 constitution was prepared and signed by top clerics who were also the lawmakers.
He said they included Mufti Mahmood‚ Shah Ahmed Noorani‚ Abdul Haq and Abdul Sattar Niazi. Haq said these clerics and distinguished legislators had taken oath and run the matters of the country under the constitution.
He said only one member of the Taliban committee has objected to the constitution‚ but it was his personal stance. He said it would not affect the dialogue process.
