Islamabad polio-free since Sep 2008: WHO

Islamabad has been polio-free city since September 2008 as per World Health Organization reports.

According to Radio Pakistan, six officers of ICT administration are deputed for supervising each polio campaign in the federal capital.

National Immunisation Campaign was first started in IslamabadCapitalTerritory in 1994.

Islamabad deputy commissioner has been appointed as focal person for polio eradication during and after each immunisation day to ensure complete implementation of Augmented National Emergency Action Plan.
