Bid foiled to blast ANP leader’s house

The police foiled a bid to blast the residence of Awami National Party’s (ANP) leader as they recovered and defused a bomb on Friday. The law enforcement agencies (LEAs) rounded up eight criminals including members of a defunct organisation during search operation.

Police said a bomb weighing 2kg was recovered outside the house of ANP leader Razzaq Buneri located in Madina Town area of Baldia Town. The bomb disposal squad (BDS) was called in which defused the explosives and cleared the area.

It should be mentioned that on Thursday another attempt of terrorism was foiled when a bomb planted in SITE industrial area was defused. Meanwhile, police and Rangers continued targeted action against outlaws in different areas of the city.

The paramilitary Rangers conducted search operation in Pashtun-dominated Sohrab Goth locality and arrested at least eight suspected criminals, among them three members of a banned outfit. Weapons were also recovered during the crackdown.
