Indian Defence Minister A K Antony has said that ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC) have come down over the past two to three months.
Talking to reporters at a defence exhibition on Thursday, AK Antony said “there has been substantial reduction in ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the LoC after the Director General of Military Operations-level (DGMO) talks between the two countries but the real test will come in summer.
Antony said though the violations have come down, “we are keeping our fingers crossed”. The test will come in summer, he maintained.
He claimed that compared to 2012, there was a sudden increase in ceasefire violations last year, but after DGMOs’ meeting, the incidents have “come down substantially”.
