Umar Akmal charged formally for brawl with traffic warden

LAHORE-

Cricketer Umar Akmal has been formally charged for a scuffle with a traffic warden, a private news channel reported on Wednesday.

According to the report, police have submitted a challan against the 23-year-old Akmal in the court on Tuesday.

On Saturday, the Pakistan team’s wicket keeper drove past by a traffic signal’s red light and misbehaved upon being stopped by a traffic warden in Firdous Market area of Lahore.

He was arrested and an FIR was lodged against him on charges of “obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions, rash driving or riding on a public way and assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty”.
