RIYADH-
A Pakistani national was beheaded by Saudi authorities on Wednesday for smuggling drugs, the interior ministry said.
The event brings the number of executions in the kingdom this year to nine.
According to a statement of the ministry quoted by SPA state news agency, Mohammed Asharaf Ramadan was caught in an attempt to smuggle an amount of heroin, that he swallowed into, the kingdom.
He was executed in Riyadh.
In another case, Saudi national Turki Ahmed al-Salami, was executed in the south-western Asir region after he was convicted of shooting dead a fellow national Salman Subaykhi, the ministry said in a separate statement.
