District administration has fined 48 shopkeepers and fine of Rs 65,500 were imposed for overcharging and violating officially approved price list.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday, the actions against profiteers were taken in the areas including Airport, Bin Qasim, Shah Faisal, Garden, Saddar and Gulshan Iqbal.
During crackdown, the district administration has fined three flour sellers, 17 chicken sellers, one meat vendor, 13 food items grocers, six vegetable sellers, seven fruit sellers and a milk seller.
Karachi Commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqi has said that an operations against profiteering is underway in the city by the Karachi Divisional and districts administrations.
