Former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf appeared before the accountability court in Islamabad today for the hearing of Rental Power corruption case.
The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) technical director recorded his statement. During the hearing, other four witnesses of the case were also present in the court.
Ashraf’s Counsel Farooq H Naek rejected the involvement of his client in the RPP case. He added that no signatures of his client were found in any documents to prove that he committed the corruption and the state was affected by it.
Former PM said that he was accused in the case without any investigation. He added that a media trial should not be held against him.
The proceedings were adjourned till 26th February.
