Rangers launch manhunt to avenge killing of 4 policemen

Four policemen were killed in an attack on police patrolling van in Ibrahim Haideri area of Karachi on late Monday night.

According to details, unidentified armed motorcyclists sprayed bullets at a police patrolling van in Ibrahim Haideri area, killing four policemen, attackers fled away after the incident.

Early morning today, around 400 Rangers officials, including women commandoes, participated in the house to house search operation after blocking the entry and exit points of the area and arrested dozens from various areas of the city.

During crackdown, an accused was killed and another injured in a cross fire between the militants and the security personnel.

According to sources, motorbike riding gunmen opened fire at a team of paramilitary rangers in Mujahid Colony near railway track. In retaliatory fire by the security men a gunman was killed, while his accomplice escaped from the scene.

In a shootout between Baghdadi police and bus robbers at Mauripur road, a robber was arrested with weapon and snatched valuables.

The rangers launched a targeted operation in Sultanabad early morning today and arrested scores of suspects and captured weapons from their possession.

Moreover, the case of attack on a police van has been registered under anti-terrorism law at Ibrahim Hyderi police station.
