Rangers kill alleged attacker in retaliatory fire

Rangers on Tuesday claimed to have killed an attacker who allegedly fired shot on the paramilitary soldiers’ vehicle in Karachi.

According to Rangers spokesman, a man riding a motorbike opened fire on Rangers’ patrolling vehicle in city’s Mujahid Colony area, prompting the law-enforcers to return fire which left him dead.

The man could not be identified immediately.

None of the soldiers injured in the attack, the spokesman said.

Meanwhile, Rangers personnel continued targeted search operation in different areas of Karachi and conducted raids to apprehend suspected persons.

According to the Rangers’ spokesman, 400 Rangers troops took part in targeted raids in Sultanabad area of Karachi after getting the tip off criminals’ presence in the area.

During the operation, the entry and exit points of the area were sealed. Female troops and commandos also took part during the raids.
