Musharraf submits Rs 2.5 m bail bond

ISLAMABAD-

Former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf on Tuesday submitted a bail bond of Rs. 2.5 million to registrar of the special court hearing the treason trial against him.
Earlier on Tuesday, a police team visited the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC), where Musharraf is hospitalized, and served an arrest warrant to his security team.
Musharraf’s lawyers submitted the requisite surety bonds to the registrar and informed the police team.
On Friday, the special court had issued bailable arrest warrants for the former dictator. The court had directed Islamabad’s inspector general to serve the warrant and submit the compliance report on the next hearing on February 7 .
The court order also required of a submission of surety bonds worth Rs2.5 million by Musharraf.
