JI invite world community’s attention towards resolution of lingering core issues of Kashmir

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Munawar Hasan has expressed the hope that the nation would demonstrate complete and remarkable unity with their Kashmiri brethren and invite the world community’s attention towards the core issue that had dodged peace in the region for decades.

In his message on the Kashmir Solidarity Day, Munawar Hasan said that the Pakistani rulers had accepted India’s supremacy to befriend the sworn enemy country and had pushed the core issue of Kashmir to the back burner. This way, they had wasted the 66 years struggle of the Kashmiris only to sell their sugar to India.

Under these circumstances, he said, it was imperative that the nation forged complete unity in its ranks and exerted it’s full pressure on the rulers to revert to the old and principled stance on Kashmir. Kashmir, he said, was the matter of life and death for the country and Pakistan was not only incomplete without Kashmir, its very existence, progress and stability largely depended on Kashmir.

The JI ameer noted that the Kashmiris men, women and children had rendered unparalleled sacrifices in the face of brutalities by the Indian occupation troops. Over one hundred thousand Kashmiri youth had embraced martyrdom to give a message to Indian and the world at large that they would prefer honourable death to Indias’ slavery. Millions of Kashmiris were compelled to spend life in notorious interrogation centres of the army.

Munawar Hasan said that India was carrying out the genocide of the Kashmiris in a planned manner. Their houses, mosques and fields were put to fire and their mosques, the holy book and were being burnt in a show of extreme bias and hatred against Islam and the Muslims. These facts were highlighted in the reports of Amnesty International and Human Rights Bodies.

The JI ameer said that the United Nations and other world bodies were fully aware of the importance of the Kashmir issue but they were not taking any practical measures to free the Kashmiris from the oppressive hold of the Hindus. The UN was not serious in the implementation of its own resolutions.

He said the only way out was that the Muslims all over the world get united and revive their independent identity and respect, gain strength and adopt the path of Jehad for safeguarding their independence and basic rights
