ISLAMABAD-

The core committee of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) held a meeting on Monday to discuss the party’s role in peace talks between government and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.

According to reports, PTI Chief Imran Khan, KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, Javed Hashmi, Shireen Mazari and other core committee members are discussing PTI’s role in peace talks as well as the participation of Khan in the committee nominated by TTP to represent it in the peace negotiations.

According to a statement by Mazari, no decision has been yet made regarding Khan partaking in the committee.

Meanwhile, a high level meeting of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) is underway to discuss the five-member committee proposed by TTP.

JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman on Sunday said that the meeting would review the representatives of the committee proposed by the TTP.
He questioned that when both the Taliban and the tribal people have confidence over Jirga system, why the authorities are ignoring it.

This is a developing story and will be updated accordingly.
