Appointment of Irfan Siddiqui as advisor to the prime minister on national affairs has been challenged in the Islamabad High Court and it has been requested to issue a stay order to stop him from working.
In the petition for stay order Petitioner Shahid Orakzai has pleaded that Irfan Siddiqui cannot perform constitutional duty regarding security of Pakistan as he is not taken oath as a federal minister, under the oath every minister is sworn to confidentiality.
Siddiqui is not a member of parliament and neither had he pledged allegiance with Pakistan in the last elections.
