CHINIOT-
Leader of Shia Ulma Council Allama Sajid Naqvi on Monday announced its support to the government’s proposed peace talks with insurgent militant group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a private news channel reported.
According to reports, Naqvi said that the decision to support the dialogue process has been taken due to the vulnerable security situation in the country.
He said that the Shia Ulma Council had supported Jamiat Ulma e Islam-Fazl’s chief Fazalur Rehman’s jirga along with other political and religious parties.
He proposed that the points proposed in the jirga should also be taken in to consideration during talks between government representatives and TTP’s committee.
