Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif and discussed the overall security situation in the country.
Media reports say the matter of peace talks with the Taliban terrorists was discussed while security and other issues of national interest along with the situation in the region were discussed.
The army chief briefed Nawaz on national security and the situation at the frontiers.
Nawaz praised the sacrifices rendered by the Pakistan Army to curb terrorism in the country. He also praised the role of the army in strengthening democracy and providing security during the elections.
