Jamiat Ulema e Islam-Sami (JUI-S) Chief Maulana Sami ul Haq on Sundayannounced that the militant outfit Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) will soon be announcing its nine-member committee for holding peace dialogue with the government’s representative.
Talking to a private news channel, Samil ul Haq said that his team would be facilitating peace talks between the government and the Taliban.
The JUI-S chief also told the media channel that he has urged Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan to accept the offer of joining the team of mediators, adding that Khan’s refusal to act as a mediator would damage his credibility.
Sami ul Haq added that TTP would be demanding a release of its activists from prisons before initiating the peace talks.
