CDA working hard to save the play

Capital Development Authority Chairman Maroof Afzal has said that preservation, protection and uplift of the recreational facilities in the city are among supreme concerns of the authority.

He was chairing a review meeting regarding maintenance and up gradation of parks and play areas in the city. He said that CDA has already approved an amount of 15 million for maintenance and up-gradation of 46 parks and play areas in sectors of “G” and “I” series as first phase of its comprehensive strategy to improve parks and play areas in the entire city.

He directed that relevant departments of the authority should concentrate on speedy completion of repair and maintenance of the 46 parks and play areas.

“I shall start my personal visits to these 46 parks and play areas to personally inspect the work there right after twelve days,” the chairman said.

“Our concentration on maintenance and up-gradation of parks and play areas will not remain confined to these 46 parks but will be extended to all parks and play areas in the city in phases,” he added.

“We realise the significance of parks and play areas in overall personality grooming, behavioural order and physical fitness. We therefore will leave no stone unturned to guarantee these facilities to the residents of Islamabad,” he said.
