Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday took a strong notice of reports that a woman was sexually assaulted on the orders of a village panchayat (jury).
Punjab CM has directed the concerned authorities to immediately arrest the culprits.
According to details, a 40-year-old woman was allegedly raped by four men on the orders of the panchayat in Ahsanpur village of Muzaffargarh.
The poor woman, who is totally innocent, was meted out tit-for-tat treatment after another woman of the village complained to the panchayat that she was raped by relatives of the affected woman.
After the panchayat’s ruling 40-year-old woman belonging to the alleged rapists’ family was subjected to sexual assault.
Reacting to the incident, the local police arrested three people including head of the panchayat.

According to sources, soldier Mehrab, from Sanghar, was martyred in the attack on a check post in Ladha, a subdivision of SW at 11:00pm on Monday.
