PESHAWAR-

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s spokesperson, Shireen Mazari on Thursday faced wrath of students upon her arrival at the University of Peshawar, allegedly to halt the launch of Pakistani teenage activist Malala Yousufzai’s book “I am Malala.”
Following a postponement of Yousafzai’s book launch ceremony scheduled on Tuesday at Peshawar University upon intervention by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government, the event was rescheduled on Thursday.
However, Thursday’s book launch was again halted when the PTI leader Mazari showed up.
Upon the suspension of the ceremony, a large number of students gathered outside the lecture hall where Mazari was present and chanted slogans demanding that the ceremony be held.
The PTI leader remained stuck in the building for a few hours as the protest continued.
A heavy contingent of police was then called in to control the situation.
There were no reports of violence.
Afterwards, the students ended their demonstration and Mazari was let to exit the university.
